February 14th is approaching, and business predictors say pet owners will be spending even more money this year buying for their pet(s). And why not? They spoil us every day with their unconditional love.
Fun Valentine's Day Gifts
New toys, pet treats, Valentine's Day Collars and Bandanas are just a few safe goodies we can safely gift to our pets.Â
If you've already got plenty of those, consider a more practical gift like a new cat bed or cat bowls or dog bowls for eating. If you don't have any extra cash this month, give your pet your time.
Take a walk together, throw the ball for that frisky dog, groom that sweet kitty, and a little extra cuddle and snuggle time will be much appreciated.

Pet owners need to be aware and careful of what your pet is exposed to. This is one of the busiest days for the Pet Poison Hotline.
Lots of gifts that we receive or give on Valentine's Day can be dangerous for our pets. Flowers, candy and chocolate to name a few, so keep those away from pets.

Cats love to get into flower bouquets, but flowers like lilies, are poisonous.Â
Chocolate can be toxic to our dogs, so that's a no-no as well as sugar-free candy which contains xylitol, which may cause a dangerous decline in your pet's blood sugar.Â
Super rich foods and alcohol can cause stomach upset and pancreatitis.
One more way to help celebrate Valentine's Day with your pet is to consider making a donation to your local pet shelter or humane society, it is much needed.
